Raising charity funds for Birmingham Childrens Hospital &become the youngest girl to climb Mt Toubkal (the highest mountain in North Africa) · 17 August 2024

It's bewildering and unsettling for anyone going into hospital but especially for children and that is why we are a fundraising hospital. We raise funds to enhance the experience of our patients by providing state of the art medical equipment and facilities and creating a child-friendly environment.

Story

I am completing this personal record attempt in aid of Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity. This amazing hospital that saved my life when I was a baby (as they do for other children all over the UK). It is because of their treatment I can do what i do today!!!!

On Friday August 16th 2024 I will be flying from the UK to Morocco (North Africa). When we land we will travel straight to Imlil (a small town on edge of the Atlas Mountains).

The following morning early we meet with our personal guide (even though I have my dad who is an experienced mountain leader it is compulsory in this country after two hikers were kidnapped). We will trek up to base camp where we will refuel and get some needed rest.

On the Sunday morning (18th) setting of around 4am we will trek to the summit of Mt Toubkal. After a few pictures we will then trek all the way back to where we started to the town of Imlil.

Becoming the youngest girl to complete the National 3 Peaks braving severe winter conditions was tough. However, I am not taking this challenge light as it will be my toughest yet and will continue to train hard learning up to the time we start!!!!

To complete this challenge I will have to compete over 30 miles trekking on arduous terrain (including climbing Mt Toubkal). Not ideal but we will have to complete this challenge during the hottest month of the year in North Africa battling temperatures in excess of 45°. Altitude sickness can be an issue there due to speed of ascending over 4000m above sea level in 24hrs but my dad is experienced in what to look out for and how to treat this!!!!

Thank for reading this page and hopefully supporting this amazing charity Birmingham Children’s Hospital ❤️ ❤️❤️❤️
