Story

One Sport, One Family: The 2026 Rugby League Cares Charity Round

Rugby League has always been more than just a game. It is built on grit, respect, and an unbreakable community spirit that binds fans, players, and clubs together regardless of the shirt we wear on game day. Over this Bank Holiday weekend, as we celebrate Foundation Day and the incredible history of our sport, Rugby League Cares is bringing the entire game together for something bigger than rivalry.

We are calling on every single person who loves Rugby League to make one small gesture that creates a massive impact.

It will be a first for Rugby League to have the whole sport coming together knowing that all the money we raise will be in aid of seriously injured players and their families. When fans support the RL Cares Charity Round, their money goes directly to enhancing the lives of those players and their families. It is typical of our beneficiaries that they step up to face immense challenges, and this weekend is our chance as a Rugby League family to show them they never walk that path alone.

The Power of £2

Our ask to the entire Rugby League family is simple: donate just £2 over this Charity Round weekend.

Two pounds is less than the price of a half-time hot drink or a matchday programme, yet when hundreds of thousands of fans across the Super League, Women’s Super League, Championship, and the Community Game stand shoulder to shoulder, those small contributions turn into a life-changing wave of support. It is proof that when our community unites, no player ever stands alone.

Supporting Our Seriously Injured Players

Every penny raised goes directly to the Rugby League Cares Seriously Injured Players Fund. Rugby League is a sport of extraordinary courage and physical intensity, but on rare occasions, devastating life-altering injuries happen. The Seriously Injured Players Fund provides lifelong financial, emotional, and practical support to players and their families who face these tough journeys.

By chipping in your £2 today, you are directly helping to adapt homes, provide vital medical equipment, fund long-term rehabilitation, and offer continuous care to those who have given so much to the sport we love.

Show Your Colours, Stand Together

Whether you are watching from the stands at The Brick Community Stadium, travelling across the country for a local derby, or tuning in from home, this weekend is our chance to demonstrate what makes Rugby League truly special. We are one sport, united in looking after our own.

Please donate your £2 today, share this page with your fellow supporters, and help us show the world the true heart of Rugby League.

Thank you for your generosity and support.
