💙 An 11-Year-Old’s 96-Mile Challenge in Memory of Her Great Grandad
My 11-year-old daughter has made an incredible decision.
This June, she will be walking the entire West Highland Way — 96 miles across Scotland.
She’s not doing this just for the challenge.
She’s doing it in memory of her great grandad, who we sadly lost to throat cancer
More recently, her best friend’s teacher has also been diagnosed with the same illness. Although she doesn’t know him personally, hearing this has made everything feel much more real to her and has strengthened her determination to help others affected.
This will be a huge physical and mental challenge — 10 days of walking, hills, unpredictable weather, and pushing herself far beyond her comfort zone.
She is taking this on to raise money for Throat Cancer Research and to make a difference in any way she can.
I’ll also be setting up a instagram page where I can share updates along the journey and read out your supportive messages to her each day — something that will really help keep her going when things get tough 💙
💙 Every mile she walks is in memory of her great grandad
💙 Every step is for those affected by this illness
💙 And every message of support will help her reach the finish
Thank you so much for supporting her — it truly means a lot 💙
