Matt Rice-Tucker is raising money for Child Bereavement UK
In memory of Jane Peckham-Cooper

7 Ultra Marathons in 7 Days · 20 April 2026

Child Bereavement UK help children and young people (up to age 25), parents, and families, to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. Child Bereavement UK also provide training to professionals, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

Story

In 2018, I ran 7 marathons in 7 consecutive days across 7 UK locations. Each run represented one of my wife’s seven siblings, honouring the memory of their mum, Jane Peckham-Cooper, who passed away when they were young. It was an emotional and personal journey — and thanks to the support of friends, family, and the public, we raised over £15,000 for Child Bereavement UK.

In 2026, I’m going back on the road — but this time I’m pushing further.

The new challenge is called “Seven More Miles”. I’ll run 7 ultra-marathons (33.2 miles each) in 7 days across the UK — a marathon plus 7 extra miles, again symbolising each sibling. The final run will coincide with the London Marathon, where my wife, Nellie, will join me to complete the final day.

This is about more than just distance — it’s about memory, meaning, and raising support for families going through some of life’s hardest moments.
