Seven Summit Mourne Mountain Charity Challenge · 28 June 2025

Sports Academy is a charity using sport as a tool to connect with and raise up the next generation of role models in the townships of George, South Africa. We provide opportunities for a better future through the coaching, mentorship and high school education incorporated into our programme.

Story

On the 28th June a team of ladies are taking on the Seven Summits of the Mourne Mountains in a single day to raise vital funds for George Royal Academy.

This challenge is no small feat—tackling over 25km of tough mountain terrain and 3,000m of ascent.

Our team is: Suzi McAfee, Mary McCollum, Kathryn Docherty, Hannah Lynas, Rose Lynas, Emily Lynas, EJ Cousins, Victoria van der Walt, Claire Cameron, Jenny Humphreys, Catherine McCaughey, Hannah McCready, Rebekka McCready, Catherine Ferguson, Caroline Struwig, Vanessa Newell and Lisa Hedley.

The fund raised go towards a school in South Africa- George Royal Academy. It uses sport as a tool to raise up and disciple leaders and provide a quality education and opportunities to children from the township communities in George.

Education is a powerful tool for change, but many children in these communities face barriers that limit their potential. By supporting this challenge, you are helping to provide essential resources, improve learning conditions, and empower the next generation of leaders.

Every donation, big or small, will make a real difference. Please support us and help give these children the education they deserve.

Thank you for your generosity!
