This year our family will be walking together for the Autism Superhero 5k. This cause is important to us because one of the most important people in our lives is autistic.

As a parent, a child’s autism comes with a wave of uncertainty. It comes with knowing that your child will struggle with things that come easily to other children. But it also comes with celebrating all the successes. It comes with seeing the world through a different lense- even if it isn’t the view you originally anticipated. It comes with tears and smiles and happy squeals. It comes with learning that you don’t need words to love someone with your whole heart.
