On Saturday 20 June 2026, I’ll be taking on this incredible challenge alongside my amazing colleagues from the X Ray Imaging Department at Heartlands Hospital to raise funds for our department and support staff wellbeing

Every day in X Ray, we meet people during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Behind every scan is a person carrying fear, uncertainty, pain, or life changing news. While we work hard to provide the best possible care and reassurance, hospitals can sometimes feel overwhelming, stressful, and clinical, not only for patients and their families, but for staff too.

This fundraiser is incredibly close to my heart because we want to help change that.

We’re hoping to create a more comforting, welcoming, and calming environment for everyone who walks through our department doors. Whether it is supporting anxious patients waiting for answers, comforting worried loved ones, or helping our hardworking staff feel supported after giving so much of themselves every single day, even the smallest improvements can make a huge difference.

The reality is that healthcare staff carry a lot emotionally behind the scenes, and creating a better space for wellbeing and compassion matters more than ever.
