Story
Hi everyone,
We're raising money for Parkinson's UK, a charity that supports people living with Parkinson's disease and funds research to find a cure. Parkinson's is a progressive neurological condition that affects movement, speech, and mental health. There is currently no cure, and the treatments available only manage the symptoms.
One of the people affected by Parkinson's is my friend Paul Bruce, who was diagnosed last year at the age of 57. Paul is a talented musician who loves playing songs by his hero, Steve Earle. He used to play in bands and at open mic nights, but the disease has made it impossible for him to work and play the guitar.
Paul has been through a lot of pain and struggle, but he has not given up hope. He is determined to fight back against Parkinson's and keep doing what he loves. That's why he and his daughter, Emily, teamed up with Dave Hall, with the idea of organising a concert at The Beerhouse, Market Harborough, on 2nd Feb, where Paul will perform with some of his friends and fellow musicians: Tim Hands, Sam Hammonds, and Pete Urmston.
The concert is a way to celebrate Paul's courage and passion and to raise awareness and funds for Parkinson's UK. The charity provides vital support and information to people like Paul and their families and invests in groundbreaking research to find better treatments and a cure.
I'm asking you to please donate whatever you can to this cause and help Paul and others like him. No matter how small, every donation will make a difference and be greatly appreciated. You can also show your support by attending the concert and enjoying great music and a fantastic night.
Thank you for reading this and for your generosity. Together, we can make a positive change for people with Parkinson's.
