The Baton of Hope is unprecedented – its first tour was, as its founders intended, the UK’s­ largest ever suicide prevention initiative. As such, it deserves an iconic device that can serve as a unifying symbol for the campaign. We need something that represents the desperately serious and highly-charged subject of suicide, while at the same time promoting the ocean of hope and optimism at the heart of the mission.

I am raising funds for "The Baton of Hope UK," an initiative that aims to bring hope and support to those in need. Every day, countless individuals face challenges that can feel insurmountable, and it is our duty to stand by them. By contributing to this cause, you are not just donating money; you are becoming a beacon of hope for someone who desperately needs it. On September 13, 2025, we will come together to make a powerful statement: that we care and that we are willing to take action. My target is to raise £1,000, which will directly support the vital work of this chacharity.

3 years ago I was on my last legs. I faced the greatest challenge of my life, which was not to take my own life. I felt worthless and a burden on everyone who mattered and thought the world would be a better place without me. I joined the Derbyshire Recovery And Peer Support Service. I was taken on and the amazing people from my team changed my life. They gave me hope for the future, which I had totally lost. They made me stronger and built my confidence back up. They showed empathy and compassion I have never felt before. I am very grateful because this service and the special people who are part of it saved my life. I didnt let go and now I help those who are facing similar challenges, with my own lived experience. This was life changing and I honestly got my life back! I will always be greatful and the team and my managers who will never know the extent of how much they helped me and how they saved my life...I am ever grateful 🙏
