Story
Thank you for visiting my 2026 BMW Berlin Marathon fundraising page. The BMW Berlin Marathon is one of the largest marathons in the world and will see me run the historic streets of Berlin and finish at the Brandenburg Gate!
To be honest, ten years ago, the idea of me running a marathon would have been a joke. I moved to a new country, I had no friends nearby and a new high-pressure job. The stress was real. I wasn't taking care of myself, I put on a lot of weight, and I felt completely isolated. I eventually started running just to get outside and clear my head, but back then, I could barely manage 1 km without stopping.
Fast forward to now: I’m 44, and sport has basically changed my life. It gave me a community of positive, normal people who didn’t care about my job or my stress—they just cared that I showed up. Since that first struggle-bus kilometer, I’ve managed to finish marathons in Amsterdam and Chicago, and I’m even training for a full Ironman in Tallinn later this year.
But the real reason I’m pushing for Berlin is for my 3 boys. I have a goal to hit all the World Marathon Majors by the time I’m 50, not for the trophies, but to show them - by example - that one doesn't have have to be perfect to do big things. You just have to show up and try hard, even when you’re starting from zero.
I am taking on this amazing challenge for the National Autistic Society, the UK's largest autism charity supporting the 700,000 people and their families across the country. The National Autistic Society's vision is to create a society that works for autistic people by providing support to autistic people and their families, improving public understandings of autism, and delivering autism-friendly services.
I want to run for the National Autistic Society because I know firsthand how much a little support and understanding can change a kid's future. My kids are capable of anything, but the world isn't always readily set up for them. I want to use my kilometers in Berlin to help fund the work NAS does to bridge that gap.
Please donate what you can and please share my page if you can. Thank you!
