Story
On 15 March 2026, we’ll be taking part in the Liverpool Half Marathon in support of the Owen McVeigh Foundation, in memory of Maxwell Jones.
Myself, Shane; my dad, Vincent Craig, and his partner, Hanna Kelly; along with friends Matthew Saxton and David Fairlie — will be running together with one clear aim: to support a charity that makes a real difference to families when they need it most.
The Owen McVeigh Foundation supports children and families affected by children’s cancer by creating positive experiences during incredibly difficult times. Through special days out, thoughtful gifts, events, and practical help, they provide moments of joy and normality while families are navigating treatment and uncertainty.
I have seen first-hand the impact of their work. When my close family was going through one of the most challenging periods of their lives with Max, they were there with kindness and support that meant more than we can properly express or ever repay. The memories they helped create will always stay with us.
Thirteen plus miles will be a challenge, but it’s a small one compared to what many families face every day. If our efforts can help provide even a little comfort or happiness to another family, it will be well worth it.
We would greatly appreciate any donation, no matter the size. Your support will help the foundation continue its important work and reach more families who need that extra support.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, secure, and efficient, with funds going directly to the charity.
Thank you for any support you can give — whether that’s donating, sharing our page, or encouraging us along the way. It truly means a lot.
