Halifax to Blackpool 2024 · 7 August 2024

The death of a loved one on the roads is a very traumatic time for anyone. To lose a child/dependant under 25 years of age is unimaginable. Quite often insurance is not in place for the sudden and unexpected expense, no parent is prepared. We help lift that burden and also give much needed support.

Story

On the 7th August 2024 my son Rafe (aged 11), and others will be walking from Halifax to Blackpool in memory of my beautiful sister Naomi Cheri Gough.

The walk will take 3 days! Averaging 20 miles per day.

We will camp for 2 nights with little access to washing facilities 😣

After doing the walk once already when he was 2 months old, the more I know what is to come, the more I want to talk him out of it! 🥰

However, I then think about how the money that is raised helps families that find themselves in such tragic circumstances, the lift of the financial burden that the Naomi Cheri Gough Foundation can provide these families and the feeling of success, pride and joy seeing that ‘Welcome to Blackpool’ sign brings on the third day.

Three days of blisters, aches and pains can provide a family with a little less stress when they are going through what will be the hardest time of their lives. So for that reason Rafe. and his fellow walkers will endure the blisters, aches and pains with a smile, knowing that what we are doing will help make a difference to someone.

So why not help us make that difference? Dig deep and help make the Halifax to Blackpool walk 2024 worth it 😁

As a charity we aim to help bereaved parents/guardians with the sudden and tragic road death of a child up to the age of 25. No parent is ever financially or emotionally prepared for such a loss. We offer help with funeral costs and also give emotional support at such a sad time.

We also deliver a very powerful presentation in schools throughout the country to educate our future drivers of the possible consequences of irresponsible driving.
