Shane's fundraiser for The Childhood Eye Cancer Trust

Endure 24 · 8 June 2024 to 9 June 2024 ·
I'll be running @endure24uk a 24 hour relay and The Great Bristol Run in support of @chect_uk the childhood eye cancer trust -fighting retinoblastoma.
Like many others, when I first heard about retinoblastoma I had no idea what it was, not least a type of eye cancer that affects one young child, mainly under the age of six, every week in the UK
On the 27th November 2020, for my cousin @lornalloyd2 and her Husband @floydy24 this became their reality. Their incredibly brave, courageous daughter Imogen was diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma at 10 weeks old.
Imogens signs and symptoms included a white glow, squint, absence of red eye, a subtle change in iris colour, a swollen eye and she would not turn her head to the right. All of these symptoms were spotted after 8 weeks and she was diagnosed two weeks later.
I am honoured to be able to run this event in celebration of Immy being able to ring the milestone bell to mark one year with no treatment in September last year.
The bravery, strength and unity that this unbelievable family have shown over the course of the last 3 years is inspiring and I'm so proud of all of them.
