Story
This year me and Roman will be taking part in the Red Shoe Walk to help raise money for dementia care projects in Sheffield through Sheffield Hospitals Charity in memory of my Grandad Dave💙
The Red Shoe Walk is a 3km walk along the canal path on the outskirts of Meadowhall Shopping Centre. Funds raised will help improve hospital spaces and activities, provide specialist dementia training for NHS staff, volunteers and family carers, and help people with dementia to live independently.
Why red shoes? The colour red can increase brain wave activity in people with dementia. It easily catches their attention. It’s a colour that can be seen clearly, even through to the late stages of dementia.
