Story

This April, my dad Paul will be walking the Fermanagh Camino in memory of our mum, Gemma. The Fermanagh Camino is a fundraiser for a local charity Cancer Connect.
We will be joining him, I am heavily involved in the organising of the event and will also be walking. Patrick, James and Mark are walking day one.
In January 2023, at just 63 years old, our mum was diagnosed suddenly with a grade 4 brain tumor, we received the devastating news that she only had months to live. The journey was incredibly difficult for mum and for our family. But as many of you know, mum faced her diagnosis with immense strength, grace, and determination in the face of so many challenges that this type of diagnosis brings. That was mum, she wore a smile no matter the weather, no matter the storm she brought calm and patience in abundance.
Throughout this challenging time, we were supported by Cancer Connect and our family still receive support today, the charity is very much a local, volunteer-led charity that supports Fermanagh families navigating a cancer journey. Their support has meant the world to us, and this walk is our way of giving back.
Our target is £300 which can go towards the purchase of a new rise and recline chair for a palliative patient. 💜
Any donation, no matter how small, is truly appreciated. Thank you.
