Story
As it approaches the 11 year anniversary of me losing my best friend James in a road traffic accident cutting his life short at just 18; It was the perfect time to partner up with Danny, a local lad who I met through Sementa Squad charity matches (a group of footballers that come together weekly and raise money for various different charities) Danny and I are not shy to fundraising challenges, Danny cycled 500 miles to raise money for a local defibrillator in Bretton and I have previously done the monopoly walk alongside one of my cousins to raise money for Thorpe hall hospice when they cared for my grandad in his last few months. Amongst other charity events.
The walk was an all time high of mine and was really fun to do, so perfect timing with the anniversary of James the same month and Danny holding the same sort of charity close to his heart it seemed perfect to raise money for Brake
Brake is a national road safety charity that cares for people bereaved and injured in road crashes and campaigns for safer roads for all. Every day, five people die on UK roads and many more are seriously injured. When the worst happens, Brake is here to help. Go to www.brake.org.uk to find out more and support our vital work.
