Shaolin Kickboxing Club has launched a donation appeal to support families in Jamaica
These families have been devastated by Hurricane Melissa, which has caused widespread destruction across the island.
Chief Instructor Kingsley Morgan shared:
"I was inspired to act after seeing how many families, including my own, have been affected by this Category Five storm in Jamaica."
The club is partnering with the British Red Cross, and all proceeds will be donated directly to the British Red Cross Disaster Fund weekly.
We kindly ask for your support. Please give what you can. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference.
Thank you for your generosity.

Hurricane Melissa, the most powerful storm of 2025, is the strongest to have hit Jamaica in modern history. Hundreds of thousands of people have been affected and at least 61 people have been killed in Jamaica and across the region.
Hurricane Melissa made a catastrophic impact on Jamaica, bringing with it violent winds, flash flooding, and landslides.
The full extent of damage and casualties remains unknown due to constant communication disruptions but reports suggest that around 30,000 people are displaced.
The first priorities are search and rescue, and ensuring people have access to healthcare, safe shelter and clean water.
How to help people affected by Hurricane Melissa?
The best and quickest way to help support those affected by Hurricane Melissa is to donate to the Red Cross Disaster Fund today. Your donation helps it to support people affected by the hurricane, as well as other disasters across the world.
How is the Red Cross supporting in Jamaica?
Jamaica Red Cross staff and volunteers, who come from the very communities they serve, have taken early, life-saving action to help support people.
Before the hurricane hit, they had been proactively supporting communities by:
mobilising 400 volunteers,
pre-positioning emergency supplies,
preparing shelters for people at risk, and
distributed 750 blankets, 250 cleaning kits, 250 hygiene kills, 250 shelter tool kits, and 500 tarpaulins
Now that the hurricane has hit, the Jamaica Red Cross is supporting families in 50 shelters across the country. Their priority is dealing with the aftermath and reaching people with aid in high-risk communities as soon as possible.
The situation is desperate. The Red Cross is already supporting the response to this emergency via the Disaster Fund, which enables teams to act quickly in the immediate hours of a crisis.
