As you will all be aware, earlier this year we were all faced with the tremendously sad news of the sudden passing of Kim Ball. News that many are still trying to comprehend. A tragic loss.

Kim was a hugely valued member of the Shapwick and Polden CC ladies team and we have decided that we would all like to come together and raise money in memory of her, for Ups and Downs Southwest, a charity we know is very close to Kim and Jon's heart. A charity that has supported them so much with their dear son Louis.

We will be holding a 'Spin for Kim' event at Shapwick and Polden CC pavilion on Saturday 8th July 2023, 8am-8pm. 2 spin bikes, with the ladies and wider club taking it in turns to keep the bikes spinning for 12 hours.

We will also be holding a cake sale alongside the spin event.

A bit about the charity and what they do........

Ups & Downs Southwest is a parent led charity seeking to support and enable children and young people, who have Down Syndrome. They aim is to ensure that these children and young people enjoy a happy, healthy, fulfilling life, in which their are able to reach their full potential.

They provide direct support to families, run information & training days, youth clubs and Family Days alongside a telephone helpline and training for professionals and schools. They currently support over 400 families in the southwest.

We hope that you can come along and support on the day, even if it's just to pop in and buy a cake! Any donation, big or small, will be hugely appreciated in memory of a wonderful lady, who we all miss greatly.
