Sharmin's running the London Marathon 2026 for PKD disease

Sharmin Rabbani is raising money for The Polycystic Kidney Disease Charity
In memory of Bakul Ali Rabbani

London Marathon 2026 · 26 April 2026 ·

Team PKD will be taking to the streets of London once again in 2026 to complete the 26.2 miles of the London Marathon.

Story

I’ve decided to take part in the London Marathon 2026 to raise money for The PKD Charity. Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) currently has no cure, but affects roughly 70,000 in the UK.

I’m running for The PKD Charity because my Dad passed of renal failure in 2013. The disease is also affecting other members of my family. As PKD has had such a significant impact on my family, I’m hoping I can hit my goal for The PKD Charity to continue their work, so they can help others across the UK with the same issues my Dad faced.

I feel honoured to be a part of this, and even if I’m able to help 1 person, I would feel proud and fulfilled as everyone deserves a chance to live a happy and healthy life. I’m excited to be given the opportunity to make that little difference in the world, especially with a charity that is so close to my heart.

The PKD Charity are so important to those affected by PKD, as they help educate, support, raise funds for research and bring awareness to the disease. If you’re able to donate then please do to help me make change.

Thank you so much for your support!
