Three charities Your Seva, Mayi Bhago Trust, and United Sikhs, have joined forces to respond to the unprecedented devastation caused by the recent floods in Panjab.

Story

This year, I’m running the London Marathon to raise money for Panjab Flood Relief and support communities to rebuild their lives.

The recent floods have devastated entire villages. Families have lost their homes, farmers their land and livestock, and countless people are struggling to rebuild their lives. For many of us in the UK, Panjab represents where our parents, grandparents, and ancestors come from - a place that gave us identity, values, and strength.

Here in the UK, we are incredibly fortunate. When disaster strikes, we have access to emergency services, healthcare, insurance, and government support. In Panjab, that safety net simply doesn’t exist in the same way. Recovery depends heavily on community, solidarity, and the support of people like us who are in a position to help.

Three charities — Your Seva, Mayi Bhago Trust, and United Sikhs — have come together to provide long-term, meaningful support through a three-point recovery plan:

Medical Aid: Delivering urgent medical care to prevent disease and treat injuries as floodwaters recede.

Restoring Livelihoods: Helping farmers reclaim their land, replace livestock, and plant again — restoring self-sufficiency and hope.

Rebuilding Homes: Supporting families to rebuild safe, dignified homes and restore stability.

I've chosen to support this cause because I have followed the work of Your Seva and seen how this charity supports neglected, abandoned and poverty-stricken families in Panjab. They are inspired by the teachings and values of Guru Nanak Dev Ji that humanity should be recognised as one and that all mankind should have access to the same basic amenities. I'm inspired to run this marathon as an opportunity to contribute to this wonderful charity and meaningful cause.

The road ahead is long, but the resilience of the Panjabi people is legendary. With your support, we can stand beside them through every step of recovery.

Every mile I run is for our roots.

Every donation is a step towards recovery.

Thank you for standing with Panjab ❤️
