Prevention is better than cure!
Both our lives have been affected by cancer, not necessarily breast cancer but we've both lost a parent to this awful disease and I have unfortunately had 3 Aunts in the family who suffered from Breast Cancer, with us sadly losing the youngest of these (Aunt Joan) to the disease not long after her 50th Birthday.
Having reached this milestone age both Paul and I felt that it was time we look at how we can actively support the prevention of this horrific disease in whatever small way we can.
Around 8 in 10 women in England are diagnosed with breast cancer between the ages of 15-44. I'm sure the statistics are very similar in my homeland Scotland. We are both surrounded by so many amazing women in our family and friend circles, so we've decided to start our cancer support journey with this great cause "Prevent Breast Cancer" in the hope that our contribution along with many others will help prevent breast cancer in our lifetime.
Against Paul's better judgement, we're both taking part in the Tour De Manc 50k bike ride on Sunday 5th May and we would really love it if all our family, friends and co workers (new and old) could help support our cause by donating to our just giving page.
Every little helps...
