This November, I’m taking on the Midwife Miles Challenge in support of the Hold the Moment – Maternity Appeal.

The goal? To move as many miles as possible this November and, together, cover the 41,400 miles Worcestershire Community Midwives team travels each month caring for families, while raising funds to enhance maternity services across the county.

Every year, over 4,500 babies are born at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, and our maternity teams are there through joy and heartbreak alike.

Funds raised will help provide:

• Buddy beds so partners can stay close during those first precious nights

• Specialist jaundice meters for quicker, gentler newborn testing

• Calming and welcoming maternity spaces for families

• An expanded Maternity Bereavement Suite, including a new memory-making room
