Story
The national President of Foresters Friendly Society each year raised funds for charity. This year the Society is proud to be supporting Alzheimer's Society.
As part of the appeal, I am taking part in a 982 Mile Challenge, by pledging to walk, swim and cycle to contribute to the overall total miles. 982 is to represent the 982,000 people in the UK living with dementia.
From 1st January to 18th March I have completed 197.96 miles (11.83 swimming, 171.08 cycling and 15.05 walking).
Dementia is the UK's biggest killer, and one in three people born in the UK today will develop it in their lifetime.
As the UK's leading dementia charity, Alzheimer's Society tackles all aspects of dementia by giving help and hope to people affected by dementia today and in the future.
It's only because of supporters like Forester's Friendly Society that Alzheimer's Society can continue to do that. Together, we can ensure dementia no longer devastates lives.
If you’re worried about dementia, or for more information on local services, you can contact Alzheimer's Society through the Dementia Support Line on 0333 150 3456, or visit alzheimers.org.uk
Thank you for your support.
