We are taking part in the Hampshire Hospitals Charity Colour Run to raise funds to support The Children’s and Young Persons Fund at Hampshire Hospitals Charity which plays a vital role in supporting the youngest patients cared for at hospitals across Basingstoke, Winchester, Andover, and surrounding communities. Every donation to this fund helps bring comfort, joy, and the best possible care experience to children, young people, and their families during what can often be a stressful and emotional time.

Funds are used for a wide range of impactful ways, including:

Enhanced Play and Distraction Therapy

Creating a more child-friendly environment through play equipment, sensory toys, and dedicated play specialists who help reduce anxiety and fear during hospital visits or stays.

Comfort and Entertainment Resources

Supplying age-appropriate books, arts and crafts materials, games, consoles, and streaming services to help children feel more at home, especially during long stays.

Improved Facilities for Families

Upgrading wards and waiting areas to make them more welcoming and supportive for both young patients and their families – including comfortable parent beds and quiet spaces.

Staff Training and Specialist Equipment

Supporting staff with ongoing training and funding for specialist child-specific medical equipment to ensure the highest level of care is always available.

Creating Special Moments

Helping to celebrate birthdays, milestones, and holidays – bringing smiles to young faces through seasonal decorations, gifts, and personal touches that mean the world to them and their families.
