In memory of Magnus

Lands End to John O’Groats Cycle · 2 September 2025

Change Mental Health wants to build a future where no one needs to face mental illness alone. We seek to change society by changing attitudes, fighting stigma and influencing government to ensure a better quality of life for those affected by mental illness.

Story

On the 2nd September we are embarking on the 1100-mile cycling journey from Lands End to John O'Groats over 12 days, both as a personal challenge and a tribute to Magnus, a beloved friend and colleague we lost this year. This endeavor is not just about the miles; it’s about making a meaningful impact in the conversation around mental health.

We are raising funds for Change Mental Health, a wonderful charity dedicated to dismantling the barriers and stigma associated with mental health issues. Each contribution supports their crucial work in providing care and resources to those in need.

Mental health profoundly affects us all at some point in our lives, and often, those who appear the most outwardly happy and content are the ones struggling inside. Men in particular are much less likely to seek support, making it even more important to foster an environment where they feel empowered to reach out without fear of judgment. By supporting this cause, you’re helping to create a more compassionate world for everyone.

The loss of a loved one is a reminder to always be kind and to please check in on those around us who may be suffering in silence.

Every mile we pedal is fuelled by hope and the memory of Magnus, a remarkable person who touched many lives. Your generosity and kindness can transform lives. Join us in honouring his memory, and the memory of others and in supporting a brighter future for all those affected by mental health challenges. Thank you for standing with us on this important journey. Sharon and Lynn.xx
