Story
Did you know that 1 in 5 people in the UK will develop a lung condition at some point in their lives?
I’ve lived with asthma for years, as have several members of my family.
The past 15 months have been incredibly difficult. I’ve lost three very dear people to different lung conditions.
My dad, Archie Douglas, passed away in May 2024. My dear friend and darts partner, Sheena Fotheringham, followed in December. And just this May, I lost my Auntie, Susan Thayne.
Each of them shaped my life in unique ways. I wanted to honour their memory by doing something meaningful—something that would truly challenge me.
Running a half marathon is no small feat—especially when my longest distance before this was 7 feet 9¼ inches (the length of a darts throw!) 😉
I’m running this half marathon in memory of Dad, Sheena, and Susan—and I’d love to raise funds for Asthma + Lung UK along the way.
They’re the only UK charity that fights for everyone’s right to breathe and a very relatable charity to my family.
I'd be very grateful for any donations you could make.
