Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am running the London marathon 2026 which is the first time ever that I will have run this far! I started running for charity in 2024 when I completed my first ever 10k and I am now attempting at the young age of 60 to go further in respect of my friend Karen.
I will have worked in the NHS, Third Sector and Social Care for over 40 years by the time April 2026 arrives and I would like to dedicate this run, probably my one and only ever marathon, to all those people who have suffered and been affected by a brain illness.
The research undertaken by Brain research UK supports finding solutions that affect anyone. It spans many difficult conditions ranging from tumours to dementia, motor neurone disease to Parkinson's which could affect anyone of us at anytime.
Out of dedication to all the people who have been affected by a brain illness, and with a personal tribute to Karen, I would like to raise as much money as possible for this once in a life time marathon opportunity.
I would be grateful and appreciative of any donation.
Thank you so much.
I promise to train hard and do my absolute best with this huge challenge!!
Shazza xx
