Story

Our Story

My Son Joseph aged 18 years at the time suffered a Catastrophic Traumatic Brain Injury in March 2020,

We were blessed to have found the GBL Foundation~such a unique & special safe space~at the time of our dire need.

In expression of our Gratitude for the incredible unwavering care, support & altruistic kindness we have received from Matt, Tilly, the whole Team Hambo & Beneficiaries I am attempting to “walk” with support pushing Joe in his manual wheelchair with Joe’s friends Mitch & Jacob with Joe being determined to take a few supported personal steps over the half marathon finish line.

Due to his life changing injury Joseph has benefited hugely from Hydrotherapy & we hope to raise a little funding towards the proposed extension & development of a hydro facility at the Foundation.

My feet have not been near a pair of trainers in 2 decades so this will be quite a challenge in order to show our Appreciation for this truly magical Charity, the wonderful people within it & for the Smiles.

All our Heartfelt Thank you’s!

The Get Busy Living Centre provides expert physiotherapy, specialist personal training, support, mentoring and advice to people suffering a life-changing injury through sport. It's a unique facility which opened its doors in 2018 and is the brainchild of founder and former England and Leicester Tigers rugby player Matt Hampson, who himself experienced a life-changing injury in 2005 leaving him paralysed from the neck down, aged just 20.

Building a sense of community is central to the Matt Hampson Foundation. In the aftermath of an incident which leads to a life-changing injury most people and their families feel isolated with an overwhelming sense of loss for what has been taken away from them.
