Joe, Family & Friends fundraiser for The Matt Hampson Foundation

London Landmarks Half Marathon 2025 · 6 April 2025 ·
The Get Busy Living Centre provides expert physiotherapy, specialist personal training, support, mentoring and advice to people suffering a life-changing injury primarily through sport. It's a unique facility which opened its doors in 2018 and is the brainchild of founder and former England and Leicester Tigers rugby player Matt Hampson, who himself experienced a life-changing injury in 2005 leaving him paralysed from the neck down, aged just 20.
Building a sense of community is central to the Matt Hampson Foundation. In the aftermath of an incident which leads to a life-changing injury most people and their families feel isolated with an overwhelming sense of loss for what has been taken away from them.
***JOSEPH’S STORY~***
Following Joseph’s accident aged 18 & resultant Traumatic Brain Injury with almost a year in a coma & catastrophic life changing event it has been an incredible struggle to find quality & consistent Multi Disciplinary rehabilitation support.
It is a Blessing to have found The Matt Hampson Foundation who have helped Joe with vital Physiotherapy & his well being for the last 2+years.
The Foundation has been a unique haven & inspiration for Joe supported by professionals who truly care & wish to make a difference in an uncertain & challenging world post injury.
With the Centre wishing to expand their facilities to support even more Beneficiaries finding themselves on a different pathway & journey in life Joseph wishes to show his Appreciation with fund raising for the planned extension & potential Hydrotherapy pool.
Last year Joe was fortunate to take part in the LLHM pushed in his manual wheelchair by his family & incredible friends & wishes this year to relive the experience with a challenge to take a few more than his PB of 13 supported steps across the finish line.
With All our Heartfelt Gratitude for your kindness.
Love Sharon, Joe, Mitch, Chaz, Charlotte, Amy & Zak.
