Story
In 2027, I'll be standing on the start line of the London Marathon for the 10th time. It will also be my 11th marathon overall – something I never imagined would be possible.
At 58 years old, people often ask me why I keep doing it.
The answer is simple: because every mile means something.
I'm incredibly proud to once again be running for Children with Cancer UK, a charity that's very close to my heart. Over the years, with the kindness and generosity of friends, family, customers and complete strangers, we've raised more than £30,000 to help children and families facing the toughest battles imaginable.
Running has never come easily to me. There have been injuries, setbacks and plenty of moments where I've questioned whether I could do another marathon. But every time I think about giving up, I remember why I started.
This marathon feels particularly special. It's a milestone that reminds me that age doesn't have to define what we can achieve. At 58, I'm still determined to lace up my trainers, take on the 26.2 miles, and hopefully make a difference to children who need it far more than I need a comfortable Sunday morning.
If you're able to support me, no matter how big or small the donation, I'd be incredibly grateful. Every pound helps fund vital research and support for children with cancer and their families.
Thank you for believing in me, cheering me on, and helping me reach this amazing milestone.
Here's to London Marathon number 10… and marathon number 11.
Sharon ❤️
