Story
I’m raising funds to help cover the care costs for four dogs recently taken in by Pawprints to Freedom following a deeply distressing situation.
On 15 March 2026, a man who had been caring for street dogs on his property was seriously assaulted by neighbours who objected to his work. Tragically, several of the dogs were also harmed during the incident. When he called for help, Pawprints to Freedom responded immediately.
Some of the dogs were too frightened to be safely rescued at the time, and we hope they have since found safety. Four dogs were successfully brought into care, but they are extremely traumatised. They are fearful, anxious, and will need time, patience, and specialist support before they can begin to recover—if they are ever able to fully trust again.
Pawprints to Freedom is doing everything possible to give these dogs the care they need, including food, bedding, and veterinary treatment. As you can imagine, this comes at a significant cost.
To support this effort, I’m taking on a personal challenge: swimming 2 miles—something I haven’t attempted in over 40 years. It will be a real test for me but nothing compared to what these dogs have endured.
If you are able to donate, no matter how small, it would mean so much and will go directly towards helping these dogs recover and feel safe again.
Thank you for your kindness and support.
Warmest regards,
Sharon
