Story
We are trying to raise money to help Marie Curie by doing The Twilight Walk. We do this to help someone else the way Marie Curie helped our much loved Mum Roberta Mckittrick.
Mum attended an outpatient clinic at the hospice which assisted her to manage her terminal illness. This meant she got to know the fantastic staff which helped her feel less anxious about her eventual admission. As a family we soon realised what a very special place the hospice was.Mum was treated with compassion and her symptoms managed in a way that maintained her dignity and she was involved in all decisions,,the staff were absolutely incredible. We are so thankful for all the care and support Mum received and for all they did for us as a family enabling us to be with her right to the end.
Marie Curie nurses, doctors and frontline staff work night and day in our Belfast Hospice and in peoples homes right across Northern Ireland providing expert clinical care for patients and much needed respite, comfort and reassurance for families, carers and loved ones.
The money that is raised helps Marie Curie Nurses provide vital care and support to people with terminal illness, and their families at the toughest time.
£23 could pay for one hour of vital nursing care for someone living with a terminal illness in the comfort of their own home
£92 could help fund four hours of nursing care in a person's home when they need it most.
