Taking on the fastest zip line in the world and the longest in Europe. Travelling across 1,555 metres at speeds of over 100mph! · 24 September 2023
With September being Blood Cancer Awareness month, it gives me the excuse to partake in raising money for a good cause.
For those that know me, this cause is very close to my heart as my sister has battled and battled hard to beat Lymphoma!
I’m immensely thankful for all the medical help my sister received throughout her illness and so proud of the courage, bravery and resilience she embodied. She is an on-going inspiration to me and for many others going through their own battle.
This is my sister’s story: -
In 2020, I was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. After six months of intense chemotherapy, I was put into remission. Unfortunately, I relapsed after only three months and had to have the mother of all chemo followed by a stem cell transplant. I owe my life to the research, donations and support from others. It has been a very humbling time and now I’m going dedicated my efforts so that others can be supported and given hope too. So I’m tackling the fastest zip wire in the world!!!!!! Heights are not my thing and I shall be screaming ALL the way. It’s the least I can do if it means others have a chance of beating this disease. Thank you, Suzy x
Despite being the UK’s 5th most common cancer and the most common blood cancer, we know that many people don’t know about lymphoma symptoms and the support available.
My sister and I will be taking part in our very special Zip Challenge event this September, which will help us to raise awareness as well as vital funds so that more people can be helped sooner.
