I’m taking part in the Ironman triathlon in Roundhay Leeds, on July 27th. This will be my last and toughest fundraising challenge. I’ve posted this late as there is so much that can go wrong during the training phase. I’ve finished my heavy training now and I’m ready to go. So what’s involved? A 3.8k swim, 180k bike ride and I finish with a marathon. To add a little spice, there are cut off times for each section, so I have to get a move on! We all have family and friends who have been affected by Cancer and I’m doing this in memory of my Mum, son in-law Mark and dear friend Paulie Hoops. I aim to raise £600 as I’m 60 (nearly 61). Marie Curie provides care and support for people living with any terminal illness across the UK. Our nurses work night and day in peoples homes and our hospices offer specialist care. We also support people emotionally, provide practical information, and match them with trained volunteers.
