Story
Thanks for visiting our JustGiving page supporting the MND Association.
I have known Mhairi since 1983 when we were students studying for the Bar Finals Exams
Mhairi was a very, dear friend of mine who was an extremely talented woman. She was fluent in French, an excellent cook , skilled at knitting and above all was a very good lawyer who was valued and respected by her colleagues.
She was deeply religious and it was her faith that helped her combat the terrible disease that finally claimed a life that went far too soon. So to honour her memory, myself and her dearest and closest friends will be embarking on this walk to try to raise both money and awareness to combat this awful disease. Thank you so much for your support and generosity.

We are walking the Thames Bridges 10k Trek on Saturday 12 September in honour and memory of our wonderful Mhairi who sadly lost her battle with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) on 25 March 2026.
Motor Neurone Disease is a rapidly progressive, fatal neurodegenerative disease that has claimed the lives of many. The disease affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord, causing muscles to waste away and affecting a person's ability to walk, talk, eat, and breathe.
Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure.
Sponsor us on here and your money will change the lives of people affected by motor neurone disease in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Thank you!
With much love from Team Steps for Mhairi 🧡
