This month I started my role as Ambassador for Action Cancer

So here I am asking for help to fundraise for a great cause, Action Cancer Breast Friends campaign which is currently running alongside Breast Awareness month starting in October. The aim of the fundraiser is to raise as much funds as possible so that Early Breast Screening at Action Cancer, which I will credit with saving my life can continue, and in doing so save the lives of other women.

The Breast Friends fundraising campaign seeks to raise £30,000 a year towards our life-saving breast screening service.

It costs Action Cancer £120 to deliver a free breast screening to a local woman either at Action Cancer House or on board the Big Bus. The charity screen approximately 8,000 women a year for breast cancer. As the breast screening service receives no government funding, Action Cancer heavily relies on the generosity of local people to keep this service going.

For those who don't know me, in April of last year I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer after attending Early Screening at Action Cancer. Since then I have availed of a number of their services which have included Scar Theraphy, Bach Remedies, Counselling and the Positive Living Programme. All which have proved vital in navigating my Cancer Journey.

My aim is to raise awareness of Breast Cancer at the Falls parkrun on the 24th October by asking all my friends, family and my running club West Belfast Coolers to wear PINK and either run the parkrun or volunteer. Everyone is welcome to join us in turning the Falls Park Pink 💓
