Story
I am a registered nurse working at St Ann’s hospice, aiming to raise £2,500 towards the new hospice to provide higher quality care for patients. I will be participating in the Manchester Half Marathon 2025, and the London Marathon 2026.
In 2022, my grandad was supported with end-of-life care at St Ann’s, and the support that both he and our family received was truly phenomenal.
St Ann’s Hospice is a charity, only 1/3 of funding is provided through the NHS. The new hospice will be a purpose built building, unlike the current hospice, allowing for higher standards of care and better facilities. Patients will have opportunities to have more private time with their families, as there will be more private rooms available. Along with the new build hospice, St Ann’s Hospice is facing a rebrand and changing the name to Moya Cole Hospice to honour the inspirational founder Dr Moya Cole. St Ann’s Hospice has to raise £20,000 per day just to keep its doors open!
