Sheffield Forgemasters - DNE 24hr Rowing Challenge

Sheffield Forgemasters is raising money for Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity

24 Hour Rowing Challenge · 15 September 2026

The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity is the principle charity of the Royal Navy. Beneficiaries lie at the heart of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity's purpose, it is our duty to remain focused on their needs. Since 2007, we have funded projects and facilities that boost morale for those who serve today. We also distribute millions of pounds annually to military charities which care for the children, families and veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines.

Story

Sheffield Forgemasters employees are taking part in a 24hr Rowing Challenge on Tuesday 15 September (12pm) to Wednesday 16 September (12pm).

This challenge is raising money for the HMS Oardacious – Submariner Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, which supports Submariners and their families.

In 2025, Sheffield Forgemasters completed in the challenge for the second straight year and raised over £2,500 for the Submariner Mental Health and Wellbeing Fund, here's hoping for another great effort this year!

The 24-hour rowing challenge involves individuals from across Whitehall and some of the DNO's biggest partners (Rolls-Royce, Submarine Delivery Agency etc;) to celebrate the formation of the Defence Nuclear Enterprise and to experience some of the challenges that are faced by the HMS Oardacious team when they race across the Atlantic every winter.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
