Story
As most of you know, on 14th July, my daughter and her partner lost their precious twin boys, Leo & Isaac, born one day short of 23 weeks. They lived for 40 minutes before they became angels.
The time Helen & Steve were able to spend with the boys was only made possible because of an Abi Cooling Cot. This enabled them to spend as much time as they needed with their boys, caring for them and creating precious memories (footprints, handprints, photos etc.). It also enabled both sets of grandparents to cuddle & kiss their grandsons before saying goodbye.
I am now trying to channel my grief into raising money to buying a cooling cot in memory of Leo & Isaac so that other parents can have the same opportunity and comfort that it brought Helen & Steve. However they are hugely expensive (£3000). I don't know whether I will manage it but I promise you that every penny given will go to Abigail's Footsteps, the charity that provides the cots. Every donation, no matter how small, will be very much appreciated. Many thanks. xx
Since 2010, Abigail's Footsteps have worked to improve the way bereaved parents are cared for by hospitals and to better educate midwives on how to care for grieving parents.
Abigail's Footsteps also help by creating sympathetic space for parents in hospitals, to providing much needed equipment for parents to spend longer with their babies whilst also offering specialist baby loss counselling sessions.
Please help us raise vital funds so we can continue to support bereaved families.
Thank you.
