Story
On 16 May 2026, I’m getting locked up at Shepton Mallet Prison – the world’s oldest prison and former home to the infamous Krays twins, Ronnie and Reggie.
I need your help to grant me my freedom!
Jail Break 2026 will raise vital funds for Reminiscence Learning, a charity dedicated to supporting people living with dementia and their families.
This isn’t just any fundraiser – I’ll be ‘treated’ to the full prisoner experience, spending the night locked in a cell, sampling what it’s like to be behind bars and taking part in an escape room challenge while wearing an orange jumpsuit!
To secure my release, I need to raise £1,000 in bail money… and that’s where YOU come in.
💜 Why this matters
I’m taking part because my dad died from dementia. Watching someone you love slowly fade away is incredibly painful.
No one should have to go through that journey feeling unsupported or alone. If raising money can help bring more understanding, connection, and support to others facing dementia, then it feels like a meaningful way to honour his memory.
💜 Why donate?
Every pound you give goes directly to Reminiscence Learning, helping fund their incredible work in dementia care, education, and support services.
Your generosity can make a real difference to the lives of people affected by dementia.
💜 How you can help
👉 Donate whatever you can – every contribution gets me closer to freedom!
👉 Share this page with friends, family, and colleagues.
👉 Follow my journey and cheer me on as I attempt to earn my release!
Live updates will be shared throughout the day on the Reminiscence Learning Facebook page.
Your support means that together, we can turn my time behind bars into practical help for those living with dementia.
Thank you for your support – now let’s get me out of here!
