Sheila's fundraiser for The Myton Hospices

Sheila Woolf is raising money for The Myton Hospices

Reading aloud the Complete Works of Jane Austen over 36 hours

We support thousands of people living with terminal illnesses & their families, in our three hospices, via our patient & family support services, and in the community through Myton at Home. We need to raise £12.7 million this year to provide our services free of charge – we can’t do it without you!

Story

There aren’t enough hospice beds in Coventry and Warwickshire to meet demand. Myton has 36 beds but can only afford to keep 25 open!

This is a very sad situation, and in order to help them raise some funds I am going to be doing something a bit different…NOT running a marathon (because there’s no way I could!)or swimming the English Channel…

Beginning on Tuesday November 3rd, and finishing on Tuesday December 8th, I shall be reading aloud the complete works of Jane Austen! I shall be in the Leigh Chapel of Stoneleigh Church, and will begin at 9am each time, aiming to finish at 3pm – six hours each Tuesday for six weeks, totalling 36 hours.

Visitors are welcome to listen to a page or two, or you could always pay NOT to listen!

I've known many people who have benefited from the fantastic care at Myton. £450 could fund an inpatient bed for one day. £545 could fund the required drugs for one patient.

I should be very grateful for any donations towards this venture.
