Story
Next year I'm running, cycling, trekking and kayaking the 100 mile coast to coast Scottish rat race to raise money for this amazing little charity called knitted knockers.
This charity is dedicated to supporting women in the UK who have had to have lumpectomys or single or double mastectomy surgery by providing them with free breast prostheses. This can be life changing for women experiencing life after cancer.
I stumbled across this incredible cause after my own double mastectomy in January last year. Mine arrived perfectly packaged with a cute little personalised card inside wishing me well from the lady that knitted them. They were thoughtful and kind and they didn't cost me a thing!
This means they are accessible to women who perhaps can't afford to buy the expensive alternatives online but still want to experience life with prosthetics.
The amazing volunteers around the UK give up their time to craft every knocker to personalised request. Donations can go towards material, postage and other important additions.
As they say Every Knocker is ‘Made with love and filled with hope' and any donations would be amazing!
