Story
This October, I'm taking part in CALM's 5k a day challenge to raise funds to support others in mental health crisis.
We all have our off days, but imagine if that was your every day. Imagine every day, feeling so low, you're struggling to function. But you don't want to tell others, because you don't want to be a burden, everyone has their own struggles + in comparison, yours may seem like a minor inconvience.
Until it isn't. Until you reach the point where you are debilitated and you can't cope anymore. You feel so low, you don't see things changing, it's hard to visualise a future. Sometimes it's hard to even see past the day. It shouldn't have to be this way. Mental health affects us all - either directly or indirectly.
I have recently opened up about my own struggles with mental health, in the hopes that it gives others the courage to do the same.
We should be having open conversations about how we feel + supporting each other before it reaches crisis point. Sadly, not everyone will reach out. According to CALM, every day in the UK we lose 18 people to suicide. Those people are someone's family, someone's friend, someone's colleague. They are someone. Please join me in supporting CALM's mission to get people talking. Suicide is not the answer.
Your story is not over yet;
Thank you.
