I am walking the Beat for PTSD

Shelley Attfield is raising money for Police Care UK

Walk The Beat - #WalktoBeat PTSD · 27 June 2026

Join our Walk the Beat fundraising challenge to support police officers and their families affected by service‑related injury and trauma. Every step helps ensures the policing community can access help and support when they need it the most.

Story

On 27 June, I’m taking part in Walk the Beat to raise money for Police Care UK, a charity that supports police officers and their families who have been harmed through a policing role.

Police officers are regularly exposed to traumatic situations most of us will never see. For many, the impact doesn’t end when a shift finishes. Physical injuries, trauma and post‑traumatic stress can affect every part of their lives, their mental health, their families, and their future.

And they often struggle in silence.

By taking part in Walk the Beat, I’m showing support for the policing community and helping fund the care that allows officers to recover, rebuild and feel valued again.

If you’re able to donate, no matter how small, you’ll be helping make sure that those who protect the public are not forgotten when they need help most.

Thank you so much for supporting my Walk the Beat challenge and standing with Police Care UK 💙
