Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you know, I lost my darling sister last year to the awful disease Bile Duct Cancer.
Bile Duct Cancer is symptomless and more money is needed for vital research into improvements in diagnosis and treatments. The survival rate is very low.
As I have been trying to process the huge loss in my life I wanted to try and do something this year that would help me physically and mentally.
So I thought I would take on a little challenge to celebrate the fact that Tania would have been 60 on the 27th of June. My challenge is to run 60 miles in June for 27 days all for Tania’s 60th!
As many of you know we had this shared passion of running, well jogging or plodding! We both loved it, came to it later in life and we used to bore everyone crazy with our little adventures as to where we ran and how far!
It was never that far but to us it felt each time we put our trainers on we were running our own little marathon, the sense of achievement we took from it each time was mind blowing, we just couldn't believe we were doing it!
I am hoping to have completed at least 60 miles by Tania’s Birthday. I will be running at different places that held a special place in our hearts and will end up on the last day running in Falmouth which is where it all started for us many years ago when we signed up for 'Race for Life' we basically walked the course! We did go back not long ago and ran the whole way, that feeling was priceless, I will never forget it.
So If anyone would like to join me on that day, we will be running for my darling wonderful sister and celebrate her life and she will be sitting on my shoulder the whole way for sure.
The charity I am raising money for is AMMF which is the UK’s only cholangiocarcinoma charity. Cholangiocarcinoma is bile duct cancer.
I will keep you posted throughout as I know it will be hard mentally to go running every day, so will need lots of encouragement!
