Story

I'm Shelley Murray aged 24, I will be walking the 11 mile Edinburgh Kiltwalk in September to raise money for Diabetes UK along with my mam - Tracy and partner, Craig. I was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 4, I have now lived with T1 diabetes for 20 years. I had double jaw surgery and chin reconstruction end of last year which I am still in recovery from. I have had surgery on both my feet and another surgery on my left foot in November 2022 since the 1st surgery didn't work. This impacts my walking and has especially impacted me walking long distances. Along with tackling the 11 mile walk I will also be controlling my blood sugars whilst walking which means carry a heavy bag of hypo treats!😊

Appreciate any donations - thank you.
