Resonate Arts produces a pioneering programme of creative activities and experiences with and for people living with dementia in the boroughs of Westminster and Kensington & Chelsea. We believe engagement in arts and culture has enduring effects on wellbeing, health and quality of life.

Story

We are running in the Vitality

London 10,000 on Sunday 22nd

September, please help us to raise

money for Resonate Arts.

Starting at Buckingham Palace, the 10-kilometre course will take our runners past some of London's most famous landmarks, including St Paul’s Cathedral & Big Ben.

Projects Manager Shelley, Director Sam and our trustee Annjana have been training hard(ish!) and will be pounding the pavements!

We are appealing to all our supporters and friends to help us raise vital funds for people living with dementia and their families to continue to access life-enhancing arts experiences.

The Challenge: A Growing Need for Support

- 1 in 14 people over 65 years old are living with dementia. This ratio rises to 6 in 14 for people over the age of 80*

- By 2030, it is estimated there will be 5580 people living with dementia in Westminster, Kensington and Chelsea, that's a 48% increase **

- At least one in five people in the UK will have depression at some time in their lives. However, it is more common in people with dementia, particularly if they have vascular dementia or Parkinson’s disease dementia. ***

Why Your Support Matters

- Sustaining our programme: To continue providing our inspiring arts activities, we need to raise £240,000 each year in an increasingly competitive funding environment.

- Making a Difference: Participants tell us about their increased confidence and feelings of joy, emphasising the impact of our sessions on their lives.

- Growing Demand: we currently have a waiting list of people living with dementia waiting for our support and several arts partners eager to begin new projects with us

What your support can do

- £50 - Will buy scarves, props and refreshments for a Creative Movement session for people living with dementia.

- £100 - Will buy percussion instruments to send to people living with dementia who attend our Singing with Friends choir online.

- £500 - Will enable five people living with dementia to regularly attend 10 sessions of our Singing with Friends choir – paying for reminder phone calls, staff support in each session and travel and access support.

- £1000 - Will provide accessible transport for two people living with dementia who cannot use public transport, to attend our monthly concert series Music for the Moment for 1 year.

- £2000 - Will allow us to train 10 new volunteer Creative Befrienders enabling them to be matched with a person living with dementia who is at risk of social isolation.

We are appealing to all our supporters and friends to help us raise vital funds for people living with dementia and their supporters & families to continue to access life-enhancing arts experiences. Thank you for any support you can provide, big or small.
