BRT SHELTER REHABILITATION PROGRAMME IN NOAKHALI
In August 2024, Northeast regions of Bangladesh faced unprecedented torrential rain from upstream and flash floods in areas of Noakhali.
Bangladesh Regeneration Trust with partner-NGO Global Unnayan Seba Songstha (GUSS) on the ground, have taken the initiative repair, restore and rebuild flood devastated homes in Rampur, Sunaimuri Upazila, Noakhali.
Despite recent economic advances in Bangladesh, poverty is still deep and widespread in the country, with almost half of its population living on less than £2 per day, and over 20 million living in extreme poverty.
Bangladesh’s geographical location, land characteristics, rivers, and climate make it very vulnerable to natural disasters, further increasing the suffering of people who are already living in dire conditions.
