Story
Every day more than 100 children are bereaved of a parent in the UK.
That is why we are taking part in the Hike for Hope to help Winston's Wish support over 60,000 grieving children and their families in 2026.
Losing our Mum in November 2024 has been one of the hardest things we’ve had to go through. Grief can feel overwhelming at any age, but we can only imagine how much harder it must be for children trying to navigate grief and understand their emotions. That’s why it means so much to raise money for Winston’s Wish a charity that supports bereaved children.Last Mother’s Day was the first without our Mum and so we chose to escape peoples celebrations and climb Snowdon with a few friends it was an emotion achievement and one Mum would have called us mad for doing(she hated heights) but one she would be proud of !.This spurred us on to climb Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and then Machu Picchu in Peru last year ! This Mother’s Day we are taking on Pen y Fan in Wales to ensuing children facing loss have the support, guidance and care they need.
Your donations mean that Winston’s Wish can be there for grieving young people who need someone to talk to, as well as parents, carers and professionals seeking guidance, through their on-demand services.
The Freephone Helpline, Live Chat and email are vital services for children to reach the support they need.
