Cath's pre-season 500km run, raising money for Choose Love UK

Cath's 500 Kilometres of Running · 21 April 2025
The running challenge is back! But this time it's a little bit bigger.
The WSL season ends on the 10th of May and will restart 6th/7th of September, leaving me bereft for the Summer with no Liverpool FC Women's games to attend. To fill my time in a useful manner, I will be running 500km (an increase from the 400km I did last Summer).
The WSL is starting earlier this year (which I was not expecting), so I'll be kicking things off a bit sooner than anticipated! I'll be starting me running before the season ends.
I have decided to raise money for Choose Love. An amazing organisation that work tirelessly to get emergency aid and life-changing support directly to displaced communities all over the world.
Last year when I completed my challenge I had raised £2705, which is my target for this year. If I reach this target, I will also abseil down the side of Anfield.
It will be challenging, as I have very little fitness to work with. I will have to stop the vaping alongside this, too. I've only completed 3 short runs since the last running challenge finished in September last year. My last run was to the Carvery down the road from my house to pick up a too good to go roast dinner in December.
Unlike last year, I have a trip to Switzerland scheduled in for the UEFA Women's European Championship. For 18 days, I'll be travelling around the country attending 11 matches. I have no idea how I'm going to squeeze a load of runs in during this tight itinerary.
If you can donate, please do. If you can also leave me a suggestion of a good running song to stick on my playlist to keep me motivated, that would be boss.
